We are able to supply Thai Hom Mali, Jasmine, RD43 (Mid-Low Glycemic rice), Thai Long Grain White Rice and White Glutinous (sticky) rice from Thailand. Our Thai Hom Mali (and Jasmine) rice comes from our rice mills in the Surin, Yasothon and Ubon Ratchathani provinces in Thailand. We have a number of rice processing plants strategically placed across Thailand, enabling easy access for farmers to bring and sell their rice. This is then taken onto our rice mills, with each one able to mill and polish between 1,000 and 1,200 metric tons of rice per day.
Thai Jasmine Rice is a fragrant white rice, often from the centre of Thailand. This can be supplied with a percentage of broken rice, such as 5, 10, 20%, thus helping to reduce the cost per ton. The broken white rice itself adds a nutty, risotto like texture.
Thai Hom Mali rice is a delicious premium rice, primarily grown in Thailand, with the finest, in our opinion, from the Surin province. This is a long grain variety of rice that has a subtle floral aroma and a soft, sticky texture when cooked. The grains are also shorter and thicker than Basmati rice. Different ages of Thai Hom Mali rice are available, from ‘New Crop’ (harvested from October to January each year), to 1 and 2 year old rice.
Our RD43 rice is mostly grown in in the central-north part of Thailand. This type of white rice has a slightly sticky texture and aromatic nature. RD43’s most beneficial attribute its low glucose level, with a mid-low Glycemic Index, which is in the same category as whole grains. The rice is made up of complex carbohydrate, which takes a longer time to break down in your body, thus absorbing less sugar. Consequently, our RD43 rice is highly recommended for diabetic and obese patients.
Thai Glutinous (sticky) rice is a long grain white rice, from the north and northeastern parts of Thailand, including Isan and Laos. The rice is sweet and sticky and often eaten with the fingers.
